I'll try it again. This is a gorgeous Vetiver. Not the dark vetiver like Encre Noir, nor the greener vetiver of Guerlain or Tom Ford. Very nice, friendly, soft fragrance. I thought Bois de Vetiver was a fairly safe blind buy as it seems to have mostly favorable reviews. classy scent, excellent price makes for easy buy, the open is very good and the rest is goodnot a monster performer but exactly right for what it is. I cannot smell them anymore after roughly an hour, even though these fragrances are known to have quite a good performance. This cologne is sooooo weak. The blend is impeccable and the smell is outstanding.Great scent for spring and summer for sure. Remarkably similar to Cartier's Dclaration L'Eau. This is worth the price. Not woody, however. pity this delicious gem doesn't last and project. A good price and longevity on me is very good. The smell itself is unfortunately a bit feminine with that rose note. I think that it's actually more for females than men but if you are a modern man you can pull it off ;-) And yes, so much nice scent for so small cost, good longetivity too - go and buy it! I simply wanted a cheap, nonsynthetic, warm weather frag that was pleasant and possibly had some vetiver in it. Im impressed with the performance , nice scent i get vibes from Cartier Declaration but this fragrance its more easy to wear, give it a try for the price just blind buy it. A sharp, airy ambroxan scent. Only 30 for 50 ml boxed. I can feel no freshness in it. When I initially bought this after watching a few reviews and it finally arrived at the local Australian discounters, I honestly thought it was a generic, nice, somewhat sweet and clean fresh smell, but it was nothing special. Opening is mix of orange and mint, that turns into clean soapy mild vetiver + rose combo within an hour. BDV succeeds through interesting, well-crafted and intriguing ways. I'm really into this. Because this is easily worth triple. That is just beautiful. However, after concentrating I did notice both the Rose and the Vetiver, and they have been combined beautifully. just got this as a blind buy as at a super cheap price - nice clean fresh masculine scent - nothing special but your not paying for that either. The price tag is low and the scent has cheap kind a feeling too. Lagerfeld is more linear and wont surprise you (for better or worse), indeed good alternative for someone who is newer to perfumes and wants something utterly pleasant and tame. Bright & fresh without smelling like everything else that's bright & fresh in the mainstream. Not a vetiver scent whatsoever, wrong name in my opinion. Blind bought this and though I loved it, It recalls Cartiers Declaration immensely. This was a nice surprise! The scent is mild, creamy, citrusy, refreshing, elegant and most importantly lifts the mood instantly of the person wearing it. I still would not call it a vetiver-dominant fragrance, but it has become one of my favorites. I have Lalique Encre Noir which is one of the nicest and most interesting scents in my collection where vetiver is present but not so dominant, or the new flanker of Davidoff's Cool Water parfum where the vetiver is super smooth and pleasantly mixed with creamy citrus and both lovely and I use them frequently however Lagerfeld's Bois the Vetiver is on the other side where Dunhill Icon or Cerruti's 1881 Essential takes place where vetiver is stronger and somehow more dominant and it is just not pleasant or appealing to me at all. Just ordered Bois de Yuzu, hopefully its a little stronger. The Citrus is clear, blood orange with Mint mixes very well. The opening is fruity and floral (blood orange with prominent rose), but I don't smell the freshness from grapefruit and mint at all. Very good price value, full bottle worthy. It's crisp, grassy, a tiny bit rosy, fresh woodsy, uplifting, classy and crowd pleasing. Fresh but also woody. It's a bit sweet, a bit sour, a bit flowery, a bit citrusy. I think thats the big thing that sets this fragrance apart at the beginning - these are very ripe citrus notes, like as if the fruit was on its last day before turning, where you could rip apart the fruit with your hands and smell it dripping down your arms. One of the great summery fragrances! Bottle is just okay. Just out and about today chillin' downtown. A blind buy based on reviews, but pleased I did. A very nice, very well priced fragrance. This isnt exactly my ideal, although in its own way, it comes close KL Hamburg Alster is like a rebellious son of Chanel Platinum Egoiste who follows his own path, belongs to another time and is comfortable in it. Vetiver & Mint are subtle and it's not the dirty variety of vetiver. Fragrantica Inc, United States. Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. The scent smells really pleasant from opening to drydown. It stands out from all the in-your-face mainstream lemon/lime scents. Karl Lagerfeld is really onto something here, they just need to somehow amp up both the projecting and the longevity. Bought this in store for my boyfriend on Saturday and just fell in love with it on the spot. I didn't like DHS 2017 at all, but this one I like. Citrus notes are well done, rose and mint are well blended in - you can tell they are there, but never really take over. It does fade fast, very quickly into a skin scent. A good quality blend for this price. There's nothing misty nor woody, just fresh and clean and harmless with moderate sillage. Nice chanelesque bottle though. Minty aromatic, light and airy, unisex i think, not a cologne scent. Karl Hamburg Alster by Karl Lagerfeld is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Really outstanding in the spring. It doesn't smell like a synthetic mess like a lot of cheaper fragrances. To me the Vetiver is not a major player in this fragrance. However, it lacks something special and it's a bit too weak, so I would not buy this for my collection, after I'd tested it on my skin for a few hours. This is a nice and decent smell. I am really impressed with this one - as noted below this is a crisp, clean vetiver - the citrus notes really complement it well in the opening and gradually give way to the rose as it dries down.
