locking Tip, run a tap through the thread part of those locking pliers. I use these clamps from harbor freight for small stuff like break lines and they work fine.
I find plugging the hose with a bolt and clamp works easier.

not sure what sizes they make but i be nice to have ones for hoses from 3/8s to 5in if they make something like that since i work on everything.
gearwrench pinch pliers hose I have an old KD plier that works OK.
tools I got a set from harbor freight, I usually don't buy shit from them but was there with a buddy and saw these. I think this is one place where it's best to have several different styles from big locking metal ones to the little plastic ones. I never really looked into the plastic one.
If you just need something cheap to get you by they should work. You are using an out of date browser. I'm starting to think the same. i work on everything from small engines to heavy equipment. I wouldn't pinch brake lines either. in the market for a FULL set of hose pinch-off pliers.

I've got a couple of Gearwrench pinch offs like these. been needing these for awhile now and always forget about them until i need them lol what are some good recommendations that actual work? But when I worked on cars, when replacing brake lines or calipers, I'd open up a bleeder & use an adjustable hood prop the hold the brake pedal all the way down. They seem to do the job for the few times I've used them. I have Neiko tools 02019a and they work really well for me.

Return the tool to place of purchase for replacement if warranty applies.

^^actually I may have been closing off an trans cooling linebut if you think about how hokey or fragile some of those hardlines are you don't always want a big metal "vise grip" hanging off it, plus it winds up wanting to fall in your way. sometimes a lighter weight plastic one can just be tucked somewhere and it'll just stay, and if it does come down and hit you in the forehead it's much less of an issue. pinch grip vice tool pliers pincers I've made a few from vise grips and a pair of round stock pins welded to each jaw. +1 for the vise-grip design hose clamp pliers from Harbor Freight - this is the perfect tool to buy there, as the force required to seal off a rubber hose is very low so you don't need drop-forged components or precision alignment for it to work well.

I use surgical clamps for the smaller stuff and vise grip sheet metal tools for the bigger stuff. not sure what sizes they make but i be.

I have two of the HF tools and they work fine. I know SK has them, but idk if they sell them as a set. Long nose HF locking pliers.
