Our Hero's Helpers Presentation is designed with our youngest visitors in mind. In this energetic free flowing presentation, your Kindergarten students are introduced to Fire and Life Safety as a concept in which, even at their age, they can be active helpers. They come away knowing that Firefighters are heroes that need each student's help to keep their families and themselves safe.
IN THE CLASSROOM
Your students will learn the basic components of an Escape Plan, 2 Ways Out and Meeting Place Outside. By actually helping our instructor put on the fire gear, your students will become less afraid of what a firefighter looks and sounds like in the event of a fire emergency. Participants learn the safest way to move in a smoke filled room and to never hide during a fire!
We understand that it's hard for our littlest of visitors to sit for long periods of time. Our Hero's Helpers presentation has built in "Body Breaks" that not only allow for movement, but also reinforces basic learning principles like active listening, following directions, repetition and the importance of acknowledging and praising the positive actions of others.
IN THE VILLAGE
In our Village, your students will learn basic lessons in our model laundry area, bathroom, and kitchen. Students are asked for their input on how they can help their families to stay the safest around the home.
Your students will revisit the lessons learned in the classroom as they prepare to perform an exit drill which includes modeling behavior and even practicing life saving communication skills as they make a mock phone call to 9-1-1.
MUSEUM TOUR
Unique to our Hero's Helpers presentation, your children will take a tour of our Firefighters Museum. Our young visitors will learn quick lessons about firefighters tools, types of transportation, even why different color helmets are important to firefighters.
